Meet Maheshe Kodikara, our resident Yoga Tai Chi and Qigong teacher. With over 40 years of teaching experience in Yoga, Tai Chi and Qigong , Maheshe has trained under renowned teachers in Sri Lanka, Australia, Japan, and India. He specialises in Iyengar Yoga, Taiji Quan (chen style), and Qi Gong, and conducts classes for both locals and foreigners at our center. Maheshe is also a certified Taiji teacher from the World Chen Xiaowang Taijiquan Association, making him the first Taiji teacher in Sri Lanka.
Yumi, the wife of the founder of Samadhi, is one of the consistent yoga teachers at Samadhi Centre. She has over 20 years of experience teaching yoga and is originally from Japan. Yumi's practice focuses on gentle yin yoga with an emphasis on body alignment, making it accessible for students of all levels.
Dasni Chandima is a seasoned yoga teacher in Sri Lanka, offering classes to both locals and foreigners. With a passion for Buddhist meditation from a young age, Dasni met her guru Mahesha Kodikara in 1999 and began learning yoga, meditation, Taiji, and Qigong from him. She completed her yoga teacher training course in 2005 and has since obtained various certifications, including AYI from S-Vyasa Yoga University. Alongside her traditional yoga practice, Dasni has also studied western anatomy and physiology and completed a Taichi Qigong Instructor Training Course. Her deep connection to Buddhism is reflected in her practice of Pau Auk and Goenka Vippassana meditation methods.
